Kayakers of all experience levels can come along for this ride of a lifetime. We launch the kayaks just north of Cave Point Park from a protected harbor and begin our paddle down the beautiful, rocky shores of Lake Michigan. On the way to Cave Point County Park, you have the opportunity to gain confidence in your paddling as we pass by lakefront cottages.
After just over a mile, the coves and caves start to appear above and below the waterline, and you’re treated to amazing vistas that can only be viewed from the water. Pictures can hardly do justice to the sights and sounds you experience while paddling around these geologic wonders.
Our visit to cave point is followed by viewing the Whitefish Bay Dunes State Park from your kayak as you gain a deeper understanding of the ecological and geological narrative about the dunes and Door County. A short hike to stretch the legs allows a different change of scenery — beautiful expanses of beachfront rest in front of the marvelous sand formations.
Enjoy a locally sourced picnic with some of our local Door County Creamery Chevre, Renard’s Cheese, Waseda summer sausage, and Lautenbach’s or Seaquist dried cherries. While not a full lunch, these snacks offer the opportunity to discuss our favorite small, local businesses.
We meet you at our location 6329 Highway 57 in Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 20 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
Please expect the entire experience to take ~4-5 hours. This will include pre-paddle preparation, ~2-2.5 hours on the water, and a half an hour post-paddle payment and photo viewing opportunity.
